Enright's Hat Trick Lifts Gulls Over Chargers

NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 8, 2012 – Senior Melissa Enright (York Beach, Maine) scored three times to help lift Endicott to an 8-1 road win over Colby-Sawyer on Saturday afternoon. Senior Hannah Thornberg (Oakland, Maine) added a pair of tallies for the Gulls, who improve to 1-1. 

Sophomore Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine) got the visitors on the scoreboard first in the 15th minute with her first goal of the season.

Colby-Sawyer tied the game four minutes later on freshman Abbey Symonds' (Bristol, N.H.) first collegiate goal, but Endicott would score seven unanswered goals, sending the Chargers to a 1-2 record with the loss.

Enright scored her first of three in the 24th minute, to give the Gulls a 2-1 lead and was the eventual game-winner. Her other two goals came in the second half. 

Endicott received other second half goals from freshman Morgan Bresnahan (South Burlington, Vt.), the first of her collegiate career and junior Elizabeth Farr (Rindge, N.H.).

Senior Taylor Teixeira (Exeter, N.H.) played 46 minutes in goal and stopped one Colby-Sawyer shot to earn the victory. Junior teammate Lizetta Solarik (Carmel, N.Y.) went the remaining 24 minutes and made two saves.

Colby-Sawyer freshman goalie Jodi Dumayne (Claremont, N.H.) made 12 saves in 51 minutes, while freshman Kasey Redmond (Germantown, N.Y.) had three. 

The Gulls outshot Colby-Sawyer 30-6.

Endicott will hold their home opener of the 2012 season tomorrow when they host Maine-Farmington at 1:00 pm at Endicott Stadium.
Colby-Sawyer travels to Bay Path on Friday for a 3:30 pm contest.
