Thornberg Earns Second Player of the Week Honor

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – For the second time this season, Endicott senior forward Hannah Thornberg (Oakland, Maine) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Week.

The weekly awards were announced Monday afternoon by the conference office and commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

Thornberg scored in each of the Gull's games this week. She netted twice in a 6-2 conference win over Salve Regina on Saturday and also tallied the opening goal in the Gulls' 3-2 overtime loss to Salem State

The senior has scored at least one goal in each of the past six games and has tallied multiple goals three times this year. The only game Thornberg has not scored was the Gull's opening day loss at Babson.

Thornberg leads the Gulls with 9 goals and has three assists, good for 21 points, also tops on the squad.

Her 42 career goals as a Gull puts her close to the all-time record for Endicott field hockey with still much of the 2012 season to play.

Thornberg earned the same award the first week of the season, when she scored four goals across three games.

Endicott currently has a 5-2 record and a perfect 2-0 mark in the conference. They play two road no0n-conference matchups next, travelling to St. Joe's Maine on Tuesday (3:30 PM) and MIT on Thursday for a 6:00 pm game.
