Kulhay Named Associated Press (AP) All-American

AP RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott offensive lineman Charlie Kulhay (Glastonbury, Conn.) has been named to The Associated Press (AP) NCAA Division III All-America First Team, as announced by the media outlet earlier today.

Kulhay is the only student-athlete in program history to earn AP All-America First Team honors and just the third Gull ever to receive accolades from the news agency (Nick DiCairano, 2018 | Justyn Lester, 2023).

The AP NCAA Division III All-America team is chosen by a panel of sports information directors (SIDs) who cover DIII football.

Kulhay (6-2, 245) posted a 96% grade at left tackle in regular season play.

He did not allow a single sack during that span and graded over 90% in key non-conference matchups against No. 7/8 Hardin-Simmons, No. 24/24 Ithaca, and RPI.

Today's announcement marks Kulhay's sixth major honor this season.

His other accomplishments include:

  • D3football.com All-Region I First Team
  • New England Football Writers Association (NEFWA) All-New England Team
  • Conference of New England (CNE) Offensive Lineman of the Year
  • CNE All-Conference First Team
  • D3football.com Preseason All-America Third Team

Kulhay is also eligible to receive D3football.com All-America honors. The media organization will announce its All-America Team on Thursday, January 2.

As a team, Kulhay guided Endicott to the following NCAA rankings: sacks allowed (14th, 0.75 spg), rushing offense (24th, 202.3 ypg), scoring offense (37th, 36.2 ppg), total offense (65th, 391.9 ypd), first downs offense (29th, 245).

YEAR IN REVIEW

The Gulls (10-2) captured their fourth straight Conference of New England (CNE) Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round for the first time in program history following a 44-0 victory over Alfred State in the first round on 11/23/24.

Endicott also became the second NCAA Division III New England-based team ever to crack the top-10 of either national poll earlier this season and climbed as high as No. 9 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Poll (program-best national ranking).
