BEVERLY, Mass. — No. 10/12 nationally ranked Endicott football graduate kicker Ryan Smith (Glastonbury, Conn.) has earned a Conference of New England (CNE) Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
In Endicott's 32-6 CNE Championship victory over Husson on Saturday, Smith controlled the field possession game against the Eagles with 352 kickoff yards (58.7 avg) and 161 punt yards (40.3 avg).
He positioned two punts inside the 20-yard line (highlighted by a punt downed at the 3-yard line) and connected on one touchback out of his six kickoffs.
The average drive-start position for Husson on Smith's punts was roughly the 22-yard line, preventing the Eagles' special teams unit from setting up any sort of big returns throughout the contest.
This marks Smith's seventh career CCC/CNE Special Teams Player of the Week award (9/27/21, 10/4/2021, 11/1/2021, 10/24/22, 10/30/23, 9/9/24).
