Johnson Receives Defensive Player Of The Week Accolades

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott sophomore Hector Johnson (Worcester, Mass.) has garnered Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Last Saturday against Western New England (11/12), Johnson was a disruptor on the edge all day long for the Endicott in its 26-21 CCC victory over the Golden Bears.

The win secured the first undefeated regular season in program history for the Gulls. It also marked the first undefeated regular season in the CCC era (2017-present).

Johnson made eight tackles on the day (three solo), getting into the backfield three times for a 14-yard total loss. Two of those TFLs were sacks.

Additionally, his pair of sacks gave him sole possession of the Endicott regular-season record with 14.5. He also had one fumble recovery and two pass breakups on the day.

This is Johnson's third career CCC Defensive Player of the Week award.
