Grabowski, Mulready Earn ABCA Region 2 All-Defensive Team Honors

ABCA RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott student-athletes Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.) and John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) have been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III Region 2 All-Defensive Team for the first time in their respective careers.

The teams were voted on by members of the ABCA, including the association's NCAA Division III All-America Committee.

In total, 90 student-athletes were selected across 10 regions, making up a starting lineup for each.

KYLE GRABOWSKI | JR. | 3B

Grabowski registered a conference-leading .990 fielding percentage (27 PO, 69 A, 1 E, 3 DP) on 97 total chances at the hot corner.

His .990 fielding percentage also ranked the highest among all Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) infielders, excluding catchers.

As a team, the Gulls ranked No. 2 overall among its NCAA Division III peers in fielding percentage (.978).

Endicott led the country in the category for the majority of the season, thanks in large part to Grabowski's sure-handedness at third base.

JOHN MULREADY | JR. | C

In 52 games this season, Mulready posted a .995 fielding percentage on 397 total chances.

The junior catcher converted 369 putouts and notched 26 assists while only committing two errors. He also threw out 16 baserunners, helped turn one double play, and totaled just four passed balls.

Mulready's game-calling, presence, and baseball IQ led the Gulls' pitching staff to the second-best earned run average (ERA) in all of Division III (3.25).

Endicott also ranked first in hits allowed per nine innings (7.56) and walks plus hits per innings pitched (1.18), third in shutouts (8), and eighth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (1.87).

For his efforts, Mulready was also named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Gold Glove Team in June.
