BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott senior left-handed pitcher Gabe Van Emon (Lexington, Mass.) has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the first time in his career.
The Team of the Week is d3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, which is in its 12th season of recognizing the top performers at all nine positions across NCAA Division III baseball from the previous week.
Student-athletes are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors (SIDs). This is the 11th Team of the Week of the 2023 season.
Van Emon broke the single-game strikeouts record against Wentworth last Saturday with 14 punchouts in a 3-0 victory for the Gulls.
Van Emon went the distance in the contest only allowing two hits and just one walk. Nine of his program record 14 strikeouts were looking.
The complete-game shutout also was the first of his career.
Van Emon is the third Gull to earn D3baseball.com Team of the Week honors this season joining Caleb Shpur (East Canaan, Conn.) and John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) on the list.
