Springfield, Mass. - Endicott freshman centerfielder Tad Gold (Martha's Vineyard, Mass.) batted .429 (8-for-19) with four runs, four RBI and two stolen bases to lead the Gulls to a 4-1 record last week.
Gold hit safely in four of five games last week, recording three extra base hits including a double and two triples.
Gold is now second amongst the regular starters with a .392 batting average, trailing only fellow freshman Jake Northrup (Boxborough, Mass.) who sports a .446 average. He is second on the team in extra base hits (8), third in slugging percentage (.541) and fourth in on-base percentage (.423). Gold has also swiped nine bags, second to teammate Danny Mello (Peabody, Mass.).
Gold and the Gulls return to action tomorrow, April 5th, at home against the University of Southern Maine starting at 3:30 pm. This game was originally scheduled to be played up in Portland but had to be relocated to Beverly.
