Beverly, Mass. – The National College Baseball Writers Association and D3Baseball.com released their annual Top 25 Preseason Poll and while Endicott did not crack the top 25 they received 18 votes, more than any of their competitors in the TCCC.

Other TCCC schools to receive votes in the poll were Western New England College (6) and Anna Maria College (1).

Sitting on top of the NCBWA/D3Baseball.com Top 25 Preseason Poll is Heidelberg, earning 19 of a possible 25 first place votes. Rounding out the top five are UW-Stevens Point, Kean, Cortland State and UW-Whitewater. Last year’s national champions, Illinois-Wesleyan, are in ninth place after a 31-21 2010 season.

In 2011, the Gulls are seeking their first conference championship since the 2006 season when the Blue and Green went 15-5 in their TCCC regular season schedule. Last season, Endicott went 28-18 (17-5 TCCC) before falling in the conference semifinals. The Gulls went on to play in the ECAC Semifinals in their third season under Head Coach Bryan Haley.

Endicott will be tested against two of the teams in the Top 25, facing off against \#19 Wheaton College (Mass.) on March 24th at home and against \#13 UMass-Boston on May 1st on the road.

The Gulls begin their 2011 campaign on March 12th with a spring doubleheader against Husson College in Winter Haven, Florida.
