TCCC Athletes of the Week
Springfield, Mass. – Freshman first baseman Jake Northrup (Boxborough, Mass.) for back-to-back weeks was named the TCCC Rookie of the Week after leading the Gulls baseball team to a 4-2 weekly record, including a 3-1 mark against TCCC foes.
Springfield, Mass. – Freshman first baseman Jake Northrup (Boxborough, Mass.) for back-to-back weeks was named the TCCC Rookie of the Week after leading the Gulls baseball team to a 4-2 weekly record, including a 3-1 mark against TCCC foes.
In six games, Northrup batted .526 (10-for-19) with five extra-base hits. The freshman smacked four doubles and homerun while producing six RBI, seven runs and even stealing a base.
In Endicott’s first four games against conference opponents, Northrup collected three hits and three RBI in a doubleheader split with Gordon and added four hits and two RBI in a twinbill sweep of Curry. His homerun, a two-run blast, came in game one against the Colonels with the Gulls down 2-1 which catapulted the Blue and Green to a 5-2 victory. He also added two hits in a key regional shutout of Salem State.
Northrup and the Gulls will look to continue their recent success with a home non-conference game against Worcester State out of the MASCAC on Tuesday, March 29th at 3:30 pm at North Field.
