SPRINGFIELD, MASS.- Freshman middle Mackenzie Guerre (Carlsbad, Calif.) and freshman setter Alleigh VandeMerkt (Riverside, Ill.) were named Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Mackenzie dominated the middle to the tune of 18 kills on 41 swings with only two errors for a .390 hitting percentage. She also chipped in one dig and two assist blocks for a match-high 19 points. For the week, the middle tallied 27 kills with four errors on 63 attempts. Her .333 hitting percentage on the week led the team as did her four total blocks (1 S, 3 A) and her four aces. The 54 assists set a career-high for the freshman as she eclipsed the 50 assist total for the second time in the last two weeks.
