Endicott falls in straight sets to Roger Williams in CCC opener

BRISTOL, R.I. - The Endicott women's volleyball team dropped to 1-7 on the season after losing their conference opener 3-0 to Roger Williams on the road.  The Gulls rallied behind eight kills from junior Callie Dolan (Westford, Mass.) and strong defensive from senior libero Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) in the loss.

Dolan's eight kills were a team-high but freshman middles Mackenzie Guerre (Carlsbad, Calif.) and Lexi Watts (San Diego, Calif.) were strong with five and four kills, respectively.  Fellow newcomer Alleigh Vandemerkt (Riverside, Ill.) dished out 16 assists, but just five different Endicott attackers.

Freshman outside Jackie Cone (Salem, N.H.) assisted on two blocks and added two kills with three digs in her three sets played.

Roger Williams sported a .381 hitting percentage as a team as Elizabeth Flaherty led all players with 12 kills.  Four other Hawk players recorded at least five kills in the match and setters Nicole Weber and Emily Lebowitz totaled 36 combined assists.

Endicott looks to rebound on Tuesday, September 18th with a home match against the University of New England at 7:00 pm.
