Norley and Guerre Take Home Volleyball Weekly Conference Awards

SPRINGFIELD, MASS.-  Senior libero Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) and freshman middle Mackenzie Guerre (Carlsbad, Calif.) were named Libero of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively.  The duo brings home the first Commonwealth Coast Conference awards of the season for the Endicott Women's Volleyball program.

Norley averaged 5.50 digs per set as the Gulls logged a 3-2 week. She tallied 15 or more digs in all five of her matches, including three matches with 20 or more digs. In a tough five-set loss to conference opponent University of New England, Norley put up 27 digs. She then repeated that feat in a five set win over Colby.  On the season, the libero is now averaging an impressive 5.67 digs/set and currently sits in second place all-time at Endicott in digs.

Guerre has seen her game improve steadily over the season and this week was no exception. The Endicott College middle blocker enjoyed a productive week, averaging 2.4 kills and a .324 hitting percentage. She logged seven or more kills in four of five matches, including a 16-kill effort against CCC opponent UNE. She also chipped in six blocks against UNE.  In the Gulls' five set win over Colby, the freshman was able to log 11 kills and four blocks.  She now leads Endicott in hitting percentage with an average of .280 and is second in kills with 104.

With the steady defense from Norley on the back line and the evolving force of Guerre as a consistent presence at the net, the Gulls will look to improve upon last week's 3-2 record as they travel to Eastern Nazarene for a 7pm matchup on Tuesday before welcoming Salve Regina to the Nest for homecoming on Saturday at 2pm.
