Box Score

BEVERLY, Mass. –
In a matchup of conference unbeatens, the Endicott women’s volleyball team lost on Homecoming Saturday 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-19) to Roger Williams at Endicott’s MacDonald Gymnasium.

The Gulls (10-11, 4-1 CCC) got 14-kill performances from senior Elyse Barbour (Greenville, R.I.) and freshman Alexandra Gearin (Los Angeles, Calif.) but it was not enough to overcome the Hawks, who rebounded from a first set loss to win their 14th-straight match dating back to September 17th

The Hawks saw leading attacker, sophomore Krystie Luczynski (Kensington, Conn.), tally a match-high 17 kills without recording an error.  Luczynski sported a .548 kill percentage.  The sophomore got it done defensively as well, blocking a total of six shots at the net including five solo stops.

Roger Williams also had solid contributions offensively from junior Kelsey Twarog (Barkhamsted, Conn.) and senior Natasha Sopchak (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) who added 11 and 10 kills, respectively.  Hawks hitters were found throughout the match by setter Emily Lebowitz (Coventry, Conn.) who totaled 43 assists

Endicott’s defenders countered the Roger Williams attack throughout the match with Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) leading all players with 33 digs.  Sarah Allshouse (Berthoud, Colo.), Gillian Kucharski (Avon, Conn.) and Gearin also contributed with 21, 14 and 11 digs apiece.

Roger Williams defensive specialist Kelsee Loche (Millis, Mass.) led her squad with 27 digs with Marilu Gonzalez (Los Angeles, Calif.) adding 16 digs of her own.

Endicott will be in action on Tuesday, October 18th when they travel to conference opponent Curry for a 6:00 pm match.  Roger Williams looks to continue their hot streak when they visit Western New England on the same day at 7:00 pm.
