2016 Women's Soccer Video Season Preview

BEVERLY, Mass. – Coming off of a 2015 season that saw the Gulls fall in the semifinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tournament, Endicott will look to claim the 10th CCC title in program history and the first since 2013.

Head coach Jodi Kenyon, who is entering her 12th season at Endicott, welcomes back a deep staff in 10th year assistant and Endicott alum Tina Loguidice '07, second year assistant Casey King and first year assistant and recent alum Betsy Albiani '16. The staff will look to co-captains Casey Mellen (Litchfield, N.H.) and Nicole Taylor (North Easton, Mass.) to provide leadership for a roster that will feature 11 freshmen and 19 total underclassmen in 2016. Here is a quick preview of the upcoming season which sees the Gulls open up on the road against North Shore rival Salem State on Thursday before kicking off the home schedule Saturday against Keene State.

RETURNING CAST (ROSTER): With Mellen and Taylor anchoring the midfield and back line respectively, the Gulls return All-CCC Third Team honoree Sharlotte Pernice (West Springfield, Mass.) up front as she looks to build on a 10 point season in 2015 as a freshman. Looking to add to the offensive attack are a pair of three goal scorers from last year in Lexi Burgess (Hebron, Conn.) and Rachel Hanna (Chelmsford, Mass.). Also returning this season are all three junior keepers in Caroline Armbruster (Stowe, Vt.)Shelby Elwell (Litchfield, Conn.) and Kristin Hartlage (Niskayuna, N.Y.).

MARK YOUR CALENDARS (SCHEDULE): The women open their season across the harbor as they take on rival Salem State in a North Shore Cup match on Thursday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. Endicott returns to the friendly confines of the Nest on Saturday as they play host to Keene State at 1:00 p.m. The first CCC home match comes on September 17 when the Gulls host the Colonels of Curry at 4:30 p.m. before hosting rival Roger Williams on September 24 as part of Homecoming Weekend at 4:30 p.m. Senior Day will see the Gulls welcome Salve Regina to town on October 8 at 1:00 p.m.

PRESEASON PLAUDITS (POLL): Endicott was picked to finish fourth in the CCC Preseason Poll after receiving 75 points.

2015 YEAR IN REVIEW: The Gulls finished their 2015 season with an ECAC DIII New England Quarterfinal appearance and a 9-8-3 record overall that saw the team go 5-3-1 in CCC play.
