Seven Women Named to All-CCC Teams; Kenyon Coach of the Year

2016 CCC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott women's soccer program saw eight members earn 2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference honors on Thursday as was announced by the conference office. The seven nods led all CCC programs and tied a single season program high, set back in 2013.

The Gulls are led by head coach Jodi Kenyon who was named CCC Coach of the Year for the fourth time in her distinguished career. Currently in her twelfth season at the helm, Kenyon's Gulls have posted a 12-3-2 record to date on the season overall while going 7-2-0 in CCC play. Throughout her time in Beverly, Endicott has posted a 174-64-23 record (.711) overall, and a record of 108-18-4 (.846) against conference foes.

ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM

Sharlotte Pernice | M | West Springfield, Mass.

Pernice, a sophomore, has earned the first All-CCC First Team nod of her career, and second overall honor, after receiving Third Team honors as a freshman. The second year student-athlete has experienced a breakout offensive season in 2016 as she currently leads the Gulls in points (21), is tied for the lead in goals (8), and is second on the team in assists (5).

Marissa Carlson | D | Bristol, Conn.

The junior, in her first season at Endicott, solidified a back line that has allowed just 14 goals in 17 matches on the season so far, for an average of 0.82 goals against. The defense was even stingier against conference opponents, allowing five goals in nine contests for an average of .56. Carlson is one of four players to start all 17 matches on the season.

ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM

Larissa Cade | F | Middlefield, Conn.

As a freshman, Cade currently leads the Gulls and is second in the CCC with seven assists on the season. The forward is third on the team with 15 points and is tied for fourth with four goals. The first year player has one game-winner, the team's lone goal in the 1-0 win over Wellesley, and has assisted on two others.

Rachel Hanna | F | Chelmsford, Mass.

Hanna is currently tied for the team lead in goals with eight and is third in points with 16 as the forward has produced her most productive season in the Blue and Green in 2016. Of the junior's eight goals, four of them are game-winners which not only leads the team, but also the conference. Her eight goals come in just 13 games played after missing time due to injury.

Casey Mellen | M | Litchfield, N.H.

A senior co-captain, Mellen has started all 17 matches to date on the season as she has provided steady play through the midfield all season. A defensive midfielder, the senior has also posted two goals and an assist for five points so far on the season, bringing her career total to eight points. Mellen scored a goal and assisted on another for her first multi-point match of her career in the team's 4-2 win over Keene St. The senior also scored in the team's 2-2 draw against Babson

Paige Pratt | D | Topsfield, Mass.

The first year starter played in 16 matches on the season, starting 15 of them. Pratt has brought an offensive touch to the defensive unit, scoring three goals and assisting on two others for a total of eight points. All three of her goals came against conference opponents as she scored against Eastern Nazarene, Nichols and Gordon. The junior was also a key piece of the defense that posted a +20 goal differential against CCC teams.

ALL-CCC THIRD TEAM

Nicole Taylor | North Easton, Mass.

The senior co-captain has started all 13 matches that she has competed in, missing time briefly for an injury. The two year starter has started 25 of the 29 matches she has played in over the past two seasons. Taylor has provided stability and speed on the backline for the Gulls as the unit has allowed an average of just five shots on goal per game and has posted 10 shutouts on the season which is tied for tops in the league. 

The Gulls are back in action on Saturday when they play host to sixth seeded Salve Regina for a 7:00 p.m. match in the CCC Quarterfinals.
