Shelby on her volunteer work with Acts of Kindness:

"The Disney Breakfast for Dinner that I put on with my Acts of Kindness Club to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation was very important to me... We originally started it my sophomore year when a senior in the club had a family member who was a recipient of a wish... When we were thinking of an organization to donate to, we knew that the Make-A-Wish Foundation was the perfect one... It means a lot to me because over the years we've gained more and more publicity and involvement from people in town and it was so incredible to watch the event grow and continue to raise money over the years... My senior year we actually finally raised our goal of $5,000 and were able to grant a child a wish... I just felt so honored to be a part of that."
