Davis becomes first Women’s Lacrosse Academic All-America honoree

BEVERLY, Mass. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced that Endicott women's lacrosse senior Holly Davis (Guilford, Conn.) was named a Capital One Academic All-America Women's At-Large Second Team winner, marking the first time a Gulls women's lacrosse student-athlete has achieved the honor.

The Capital One Academic All-America Women's At-Large Team recognizes the nation's top female student-athletes that are competitors in the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, and water polo.  Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, hold a grade point average of at least 3.5, and be nominated by their institution's sports information director.

Davis, a Liberal Studies Teacher Licensure major with a 3.82 grade point average, has excelled tremendously on the field for an Endicott women's lacrosse team that won their eighth consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship while recording the program's first NCAA Tournament victory in the First Round.  Her career-best 69-goal, 20-assist, and 85-draw control season led to CCC Offensive Player of the Year, Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Pilgrim Region First Team, and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England All-Star honors.

Davis is a three-time CCC Academic All-Conference winner and was most recently named the Endicott Female Student-Athlete of the Year.  On campus, she is President of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, a member of the Mortar Board Honor Society, a peer tutor, and studied abroad in both China and Cambodia.

Davis is one of three Capital One Academic All-America Women's At-Large honorees from the CCC.  Nichols field hockey senior Emily Widdison and women's tennis junior Anna Dyakiv were listed on the Third Team.
