Women’s Lacrosse Earns Honors for CCC Tournament Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Endicott's women's lacrosse team has earned two of the final Player of the Week awards after their 17-15 victory over Western New England in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship game.

Senior attacker Kelly Tierney (South Hadley, Mass.) was named offensive player of the week, and junior midfielder Rachel Campos (Shrewsbury, Mass.) earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Tierney helped lead the Gulls to two big wins in the CCC championship tournament.  In a 19-6 semifinal win over the University of New England, Tierney scored six goals and added an assist, while scooping up two ground balls, earning one draw control and causing one turnover.  She then turned provider, dishing out a big five assists in Endicott's championship win over Western New England.  Tierney also gathered a ground ball and caused one turnover in the two goal championship title victory.

Campos had a big week for the CCC champion Gulls as she won twelve draw controls and recorded one goal and one assist.  Campos scored her goal and dished out her assist in Endicott's victory over the University of New England, while also adding seven draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover.  In the 17-15 championship win over Western New England, she won five draw controls and gathered two ground balls.

Endicott (12-7) has won their eighth consecutive CCC championship and are making their eighth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Gulls will host Springfield College on Wednesday afternoon at Endicott Stadium.
