Davis Newest Gull to be Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

BEVERLY, Mass. – Senior women's lacrosse player Holly Davis (Guilford, Conn.) has been named to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All District At Large team.

Davis is the first Endicott women's lacrosse player to earn an Academic All-District mention. She is now eligible for consideration for the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All America team, which will be named later in the month.

The 2013 Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Nominees must be a contributing starter or role player on their team, have reached sophomore standing academically, and achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 to be considered.

A senior liberal studies/teacher licensure student, Davis has posted a 3.82 GPA this year. A member of the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll in 2012, Davis has also worked as a peer tutor and is a member of the Mortar Board Honor Society as well as the Kappa Delta Phi Education Honor Society. She was recently named Endicott's Female Student-Athlete of the Year.

On the field, Davis led the team with 69 goals this year and was second on the team with 89 points when you couple her goals with her twenty assists. She collected 85 draw controls, the second most on the Gulls, and grabbed 30 ground balls while causing seven turnovers. In her senior season, she was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Year and a member of the All-CCC First team.

Davis helped lead Endicott to a 13-8 record, their eighth consecutive CCC championship, and the first ever NCAA win in program history.

She is the only women's lacrosse player on the NCAA Division III At-Large team for District 1, which includes schools from Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Davis also joins Nichol's women's tennis player Anna Dyakiv as the only two members of the CCC named to this honor.
