#6 Colby Too Much for Endicott Women's Lacrosse
WATERVILLE, Maine – Endicott travelled to play NESCAC foe Colby College on Thursday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action and suffered a 16-4 defeat.

Endicott falls to 2-3 on the season, while Colby (3-0), ranked sixth in the country, is now 4-0 all-time against the Gulls.

The Mules scored the first six goals of the game before Kelly Tierney (S. Hadley, Mass.) got the Gulls on the board on an assist from senior Lauren Todd (Newfields, N.H.). Todd would later add a goal in the second half and Tierney picked up an assist as the only Endicott players with multiple points in the game.

Kate Pistel (Amherst, Mass.) and Katie Griffin (Duxbury, Mass.) led the Mules with three goals apiece, while junior Lindsey McKenna (Fairfield, Conn.) netted her two goals in the first thirteen minutes of the game as the Mules built a 6-0 advantage.

Abby Hatch (Wilbraham, Mass.) added the first of her two goals on that opening run, which ended with Tierney's goal with 7:38 left in the half.

The hosts grabbed another goal before the break through senior Tess Petesch (Rockville, Md.) and led 7-1 at halftime. They added four more unanswered goals in the first thirteen minutes of the second half before Endicott got back to back scores from Holly Davis (Guilford, Conn.) and Caitlin Pratt (Bow, N.H.).

Pistel and Griffin scored back-to-back goals at 12:29 and 11:11 to complete their respective hat tricks and, after Todd tallied an unassisted goal with under two minutes to play, freshman Dana  Swaffield (Dover, Mass.) capped the scoring for the Mules.

Endicott junior Kelsey Barnes (Mendham, N.J.) grabbed a team-high five ground balls and caused two turnovers, though the hosts had a 14-6 edge in causing miscues.

Colby also had a 12-10 edge in draw controls, led by five different plays with two apiece. Davis's four draw control wins paced the Gulls, while Callie Murphy (Woburn, Mass.) collected three draws. Senior Stacia Geno (White River Junction, Vt.) paced Endicott with three caused turnovers.

Junior Rachel Socolow (Westford, Mass.) made nine stops in the cage. Sophomore Michelle Burt (Woodbridge, Conn.) led a trio of Colby goalkeepers. Burt played nearly forty-five minutes and made eight saves on eleven stops.

The Gulls will open their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schedule this Saturday afternoon when they travel down the road to Gordon College for a 1:00 pm rivalry game.

Colby travels to Medford on Saturday for an 11:00 pm NESCAC game at Tufts.
