Socolow Named CCC Defensive Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) today named Endicott junior goalie Rachel Socolow (Westford, Mass.) their Defensive of the Week winner as Socolow led the Gulls to a 3-1 week against a mix of conference and non-conference games.  The junior posted a 6.67 goals against average in the four contests including a 3.00 goals against in two CCC matchups.

Socolow was in net as the Gulls posted wins over Wentworth and Salve Regina by a combined score of 38-6.  She was able to record five saves in each matchup.  Against a tough non-conference pairings in Southern Maine and Bowdoin, Socolow posted two-straight games with 13 saves which were both one off of her career and season high of 14.  The Gulls were able to defeat Southern Maine 5-16 before falling to Bowdoin 8-14.

Endicott is now off until Friday when they welcome CCC foe Roger Williams to the Nest for a 4 p.m. start.
