BRUNSWICK, Maine. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team traveled to Bowdoin on Friday night and came away with a 3-2 overtime victory.
Bowdoin got on the board first with a tally from Tala Glass (Glencoe, Ill.) halfway through the first period.
The Gulls responded quickly in the opening minutes of the second period to take the 2-1 advantage on goals from Nicole Demers (Avon, Conn.) and Lauren Ferraiuolo (North Haven, Conn.).
At the 9:53 mark of the second frame, the Polar Bears evened the score at 2-2 when Angelina Joyce (Newton, Mass.) found the back of the net on the power play.
Neither team was able to get the go-ahead goal in regulation but Endicott's Lexi Klein (Shoreview, Minn.) struck at the 3:06 mark of the overtime period to give the Gulls the 3-2 win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) assisted on all three of Endicott's goals. Ferraiuolo and Klein were also credited with assists throughout the contest.
- Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden) recorded 29 saves and improves to 2-2-2 on the season.
- Kerri St. Denis (Harpswell, Maine) made 16 stops during the loss.
- The Polar Bears held a 31-19 shot advantage.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (4-2-2) travels to Wesleyan (Conn.) on Tuesday, December 4 for a 7 PM game. Bowdoin (0-5-0) hosts Saint Anselm at 2 PM on Saturday, December 1.
