Gulls Edged, 4-3, By Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team traveled to Williams on Tuesday night and were ultimately edged 4-3. 

The Ephs jumped out to a 1-0 advantage in the first period on a goal from Meghan Halloran (Darien, Conn.). Williams added two more tallies in the second as Gabi Montembeault (Glencoe, Ill.) and Amanda Reisman (Short Hills, N.J.) both found the back of the net. 

Endicott cut the deficit to 3-1 at the 12:45 mark of the second frame when Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska) scored on a powerplay opportunity. 

The Gulls opened the third period with a tally from Caroline Hughes (Andover, Mass.) to bring the game within one goal, but the Ephs responded at the 13:23 mark to extend their lead to 4-2. 

Endicott continued pressuring offensively which resulted in a goal from Lauren Ferraiuolo (North Haven, Conn.), however, Williams was able to hold on to secure the 4-3 victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Earning assists on the night for the Gulls were Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) and Ferraiuolo. 
  • Williams held a 32-19 shot advantage. 
  • Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden) recorded 28 saves. 
  • Chloe Heiting (Woodbury, Minn.) made 16 stops to earn the win.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (3-2-2, 2-1-1 CHC) travels to Bowdoin on Friday, November 30 for a 7 PM game. Williams (2-1-0, 1-1-0 NESCAC) hosts Saint Anselm at 7 PM on Wednesday, November 28.
