SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Endicott College softball player Casey Shanley (Billerica, Mass.) was named TCCC Player of the Week while Endicott's Jenna Bortolotti (Milton, Mass.) earned TCCC Pitcher of the Week for this week as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday. Shanley and Bortolotti helped lead the Gulls to a 7-3 start to the season during the Gulls trip to the Florida Rebel Games held in Kissimmee, Fla.

Shanley led the team with a pair of back-to-back five RBI games in wins over Wisconsin Stevens-Point, 9-1, and Framingham State College, 13-4. For the season, the senior is tied for the team lead in hits (11) and heads the Gulls in RBI (12), total bases (16), and slugging (.552) all while hitting an impressive .379 in 10 games played.

Jenna Bortolotti posted a 2-1 weekly record with a 1.98 ERA. She tossed a seven-hit shutout against Springfield College in which she struck out eight and walked just one. She also allowed just one run in 4.2 innings of work en route to an 8-3 victory against Smith, and added her second eight-strikeout performance of the week in a tough 4-1 loss to Montclair State. In 17.2 total innings, Bortolotti struck out 18 batters and walked just seven.

The Blue and Green return to action on Wednesday afternoon as the Gulls open TCCC conference play with a double-header against Western New England College at 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
