SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Endicott College softball player Merry MacDonald (Braintree, Mass.) was honored as The Commonwealth Coast Conference and New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches Association Player of the Week this week. MacDonald led the Gulls to a 5-2 week and helped the Gulls clinch the \#1-seed in the upcoming TCCC tournament with their 23-1 record in league play.
The junior third baseman batted .545 (12-for-22) and slugged an impressive 1.136 with four home runs, eight RBI and seven runs scored. In four conference wins against Curry and Salve Regina, McDonald batted .715 (8-for-13) with three home runs and five RBI. She closed out the week by going 3-for-7 with a home run and three RBI in a non-conference doubleheader against \#5 Tufts (34-0).
The Blue and Green now look forward to the Conference tournament with their opponent to be determined in the upcoming days. The Gulls will play in game two of a double-header scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on the campus of Endicott on Tuesday afternoon in the TCCC Semifinals.
