SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Endicott College softball player Jenna Lazar (Milton, Mass.) was honored as The Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week this week as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday afternoon. Lazar has led the Gulls to a 29-4 record this season including a 19-1 record in conference, leaving the Gulls atop the TCCC standings in 2009.
The junior shortstop played a big role in leading the Gulls to a perfect 8-0 record last week, batting .522 (12-for-23) with two doubles, two triples, one home run, seven RBI and 12 runs scored. Lazar, who hit safely in seven of eight games, also drew seven walks and was a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen bases. She recorded an impressive .633 on-base percentage, slugged a mighty .913 and was perfect in the field at her shortstop position. Lazar also posted four multiple-hit games over the course of the week.
Jenna Lazar and the Endicott College Gulls return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they host Curry College in a TCCC double-header scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
