Men’s Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches 2019-20 Team Academic Award

2019-20 UNITED SOCCER COACHES COLLEGE TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD WINNERS LIST

BEVERLY, Mass. – For the fourth straight season, the Endicott men's soccer team has received the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award, as announced by the organization last week.

The United Soccer Coaches organization annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field.

A total of 935 college teams (353 men, 582 women) posted a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 academic year. Of that total, 202 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized, including Endicott.

Meanwhile, the Endicott men's soccer program has earned the distinction six times overall (2012, 2014, 2016-2019) since the award was instituted in 1996.

Last fall, the Gulls also placed 5 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference list. Student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore status to earn Academic All-Conference honors.

Endicott's 2019 season featured a 12-6-2 overall record and a 5-1-2 mark in CCC play. The Gulls also advanced to the CCC championship game but fell to Salve Regina, 3-2, in overtime.
