Endicott Battles Past Springfield, 2-1

BEVERLY, Mass.  With ten minutes remaining in regulation, Endicott senior forward Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) split two defenders and tucked the ball into the left corner of the net to lift the Gulls to a 2-1 win over Springfield on Tuesday night at Hempstead Stadium.

The Pride got on the board first in the 21st minute, but the Gulls responded just five minutes later through Couchot who got on the end of a Max Robbins (Longmeadow, Mass.) through ball and scored from a nearly impossible angle, almost parallel to the right post from the right-wing, to make it 1-1.

In the second half, before the Couchot goal, Springfield had a great chance in the 75th minute, but Zach Regulbuto (Somers, Conn.) was quick to react sprawling to his left and making the save with a strong right-hand near the crossbar.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Arian Pilja (Arlington, Mass.) registered the second assist on Couchot's first goal.
  • Regulbuto made six saves total in the match.
  • The Gulls have now won two in a row against the Pride.
  • This is Cuchot's second multi-goal game of the season.
