BRISTOL, R.I. – The Endicott men's soccer team defeated conference foe Roger Williams, 1-0, on Tuesday evening behind a goal from Gabriel Chaves (Secaucus, N.J.) in the sixth minute that held true the rest of the way.
Chaves buried his third goal of the season at 5:47 with a header past Hawks' goalkeeper Edmund Geschickter (Brookline, Mass.) into the upper-left 90 after going unmarked at the top of the goal area.
Sophomore back Arian Pilja (Arlington, Mass.) initiated the tally for the Gulls with a burst of speed up the left flank, a few slick dribbles between two defenders, and a cross to a wide-open Chaves just before he ran out of space near the end line.
Meanwhile, Endicott goalkeeper Zach Regulbuto (Somers, Conn.) stopped seven shots (tied career-high) to earn his sixth shutout of the season.
