No. 18/20 Men's Lacrosse Upends Hartford, 19-6

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 18/20 Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated the University of Hartford, 19-6, on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

In a close defensive first half, the Gulls took a 6-3 lead into the break. Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.) and Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.) each netted two tallies in the half, while Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y.) and Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) each found the net once.

After the break, the Blue and Green broke loose for an 8-3 third quarter, extending their lead to 14-6 heading to the fourth. They then closed out the contest with five unanswered to secure the 19-6 victory.

Graap led the way with four second half goals, while Fernandez notched three and Brody MacDonald (Hanson, Mass.) two. Ethan Cupples (Marshfield, Mass.), Colt Green (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) and Pagluiso also contributed to the second stanza scoring efforts with a tally each.

In net, Tim Luciano (Westport, Conn.) turned away 11 of the 17 Hawks shots (.647) on the afternoon.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • This is the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
  • The Gulls move to 4-1 at the Nest this season.
  • MacDonald's two goals were the first of his career.
  • Eighth time this season Luciano has saved 10+ shots.
  • Cupples recorded his first goal since the season opener on 2/16, and the sixth of his career.

No. 18/20 Endicott (10-1, 3-0 CCC) travels to UNE on Wednesday for a 4 PM contest. Hartford (3-5) welcomes Wentworth for a 3:30 PM contest on Tuesday.
