No. 18/20 Men's Lacrosse Tops Western New England, 15-12

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The No. 18/20 nationally ranked Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated Western New England, 15-13, on a rainy Wednesday night at Golden Bear Stadium.

Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.) both led the Endicott attack netting hat-tricks. Grapp and Pagluiso both had assists in the contest as well.

Guerin Favreau (Woodstock Valley, Conn.) and Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.) added two tallies apiece while Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.)Colt Green (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.)Manny Marshall (Chelmsford, Mass.), and Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y.) all tallied a goal.

In goal, Tim Luciano (Westport, Conn.) made 10 saves to improve to 7-1 on the season.

Trailing 2-0 at the end of the first quarter, Green got one back early in the second but the Golden Bears scoring the next three to take a 5-1 lead. Graap put a stop to the run as Western New England added another goal but Endicott then scored five answered over the nine minutes to take a one goal lead going to halftime.

The scoring run for the Gulls continued in the second half as Favreau and Fernandez found the back of the net to extend the lead to 9-6. The Endicott defense shutout the Golden Bear offense for over 17 minutes of game time as Western New England had 11 turnovers during the stretch while Luciano made two saves.

Graap's third goal pushed the lead to 10-7 before the Golden Bears scored the next three goals to tie the game with 4:30 to play in the third. A Pagluiso goal with 24 seconds left gave the Gulls an 11-10 lead heading to the fourth.

Pagluiso and Barker both scored six seconds apart as they pused Endicott's lead to three while Marshall answered a Golden Bear goal to lead 14-11 with over 10 minutes to play. Tyksinski's goal pushed the Gull's lead to four as Western New England added another tally as Endicott sealed the 15-12 win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Golden Bears still lead the all-time series 18-14.
  • First win for Endicott in Springfield since 4/10/2021.
  • Endicott outshot the hosts 49-30 in the contest
  • Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.) led the Gulls with 11 ground balls and he won 14 faceoffs in the contest.

No. 18/20 Endicott (7-1, 1-0 CCC) hosts Nichols on Saturday, March 30 at 12 PM. Western New England (3-5, 0-1 CCC) visits Wentworth this Saturday at 3 PM.
