BEVERLY, Mass. — Two members of the Endicott men's lacrosse team have earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.) and Tim Luciano (Westport, Conn.) collected Specialist of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
THOMAS BARKER
Against MIT, Barker went 29-38 and scooped up 19 ground balls. In the second quarter, Endicott went on a 7-1 scoring run thanks to the junior winning seven of nine faceoffs in the quarter. His 29 faceoff wins were a career-high.
Then versus Springfield, finished 17-26 at the X and had 12 ground balls. With the score tied 6-6 at the half, Barker won the opening faceoff of the third quarter, raced down, and buried the shot to give Endicott a 7-6 lead seven seconds in. The Needham, Mass. native also had two caused turnovers in the contest
This is his ninth career CCC Specialist of the Week award.
TIM LUCIANO
Luciano posted a 2-0 record behind 17 saves (.425) and an 11.52 goals against average (GAA).
He stopped three shots in a gritty 18-17 victory over MIT on Wednesday before backstopping a 15-7 win against Springfield on Saturday with 14 saves (.667).
Luciano also had three ground balls and two caused turnovers on the week.
This is Luciano's fourth career CCC Defensive Player of the Week award.
