No. 11 Union (N.Y.) Tops Men’s Lacrosse, 12-2

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The Endicott men's lacrosse team fell to No. 11 nationally ranked Union (N.Y.), 12-2, on Wednesday evening at Frank Bailey Field in the season opener for both programs.

The Gulls received solo tallies from Ben Clark (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) and Jack Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.) in the loss.

Austin Fournier (Martha's Vineyard, Mass.) also stopped a career-high 16 shots in cage, while Tim Carlson (Amston, Conn.) and Eric Spada (Glen Rock, N.J.) tied for the team-high in caused turnovers with three apiece for Endicott.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • This was the fifth meeting in the all-time series against Union.
  • Additionally, all five of those contests have served as Union's season opener.
  • The Dutchmen finished the 2019 season ninth in the USILA D-III poll after posting a 14-4 record en route to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in five years.

Endicott (0-1) hosts Nazareth, who is receiving four votes in the latest USILA poll, in its home opener on Saturday, February 29 at 12 PM. No. 11 Union (1-0) visits Babson Saturday at 12 PM.
