Endicott Claims UNE Invitational by Six Strokes

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine - The Endicott golf team traveled north to compete in the UNE Invitational on Friday afternoon, and returned back to Beverly with the team win, finishing first in the field of six, by six strokes. The Gulls finished +34, 310, and were followed by the University of Southern Maine (316), Saint Joseph's (Maine) (317), the University of New England (321), UMaine Farmington (330), and Maine Maritime (350).

Endicott was led by Tyler Baker (Falmouth, Maine) and Will Pierce (Melrose, Mass.), who each tied for second, with rounds of +7, 76, on the par 69, 5,859 yard course at Cape Arundel Golf Club.

Kyle Mahoney (Braintree, Mass.) finished in a four-way tie for third with a round of 77, while Frank Mahoney (Braintree, Mass.) and Connor LaCross (Upton, Mass.) finished tied for 13th with rounds of 81.

BEYOND THE SCORE CARD

  • This is first win at the UNE Invitational for Endicott since the 2014-15 fall season. That day, soon-to-be 2022 Endicott Hall of Famer Austin Teal '16 helped lead the Gulls to victory.
  • It is the second Invitational win in Maine in the last week, following the Gulls' Bowdoin Invitational win on Sunday. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott will return to action next weekend in Saratoga, N.Y. when the Gulls compete in the Skidmore Invitational.
