Gulls Finish Second at Weather Shortened Husson Invitational

Gulls Finish Second at Weather Shortened Husson Invitational

ORONO, Maine-  Sitting in second place following the first day of the Husson Invitational, Endicott would wind up finishing in that same spot as day two was called due to inclement weather.  The Invitational, held at the Penobscot Valley Country Club, saw 10 schools compete with the Gulls finishing behind only the host Husson.  Par for the course is 72.

Sophomore Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) led the Gulls as he shot a round of 79.  His 79 saw him tie for the second lowest front nine score with 38 before he closed with a 41 on the back nine.  Zach Golojuch (Saco, Maine) continued his solid start to the 2013 season as he shot an 83 after opening with a 42 and then closing with a 41.  Golojuch has now been one of Endicott's top two golfers in all three tournaments in 2013.

Nick Erlichman (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was right behind Golojuch as he shot an 84.  His opening nine of 43 was followed by a back nine of 41.  Ian Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) finished fourth for the Gulls with 88 and Dan Negus closed out the scoring as he logged a round of 90.

Endicott now has a 10 day layoff before heading back to Maine to compete in the UNE Invitational on September, 1.  The UNE Invitational, a one day tournament, will be held at the Cape Arundel Golf Club.  Tee time is set for 11:00 a.m. for the Gulls.
