Endicott Finished 5th At ECAC DIII Golf Championships With Strong Team Showing

BERNARDSTON, Mass.-  The Endicott golf team fought its way to a fifth place finish at the ECAC DIII Golf Championship held at the Crumpin Fox Golf Club.  The team finished fifth out of 15 teams in the field and closed with a score of 652, just four strokes out of second place. The Gulls are now off for two weeks before traveling to Brewster, Mass. for the NEIGA two day Championship at the Captains Course.

Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) finished in a tie for sixth place with a two round combined total of 158 after firing identical rounds of 79.  Teal's 158 was just five strokes off the medalist score of 153 in the tournament.  This marks the fourth time this season that the sophomore has been the low score for Endicott.

Close behind Teal was Zach Golojuch (Saco, Maine) who finished tied for 15th with a score of 162.  Golojuch, who recorded rounds of 79 and 83, has now finished third or better for the Gulls in every tournament in 2013.  Co-captain Nick Erlichman (Shrewsbury, Mass.), who was coming off an impressive USM Invitational, shot identical rounds of 85 to finish with a score of 170.  His 170 placed him in a tie for 33rd with fellow co-captain Jack Carroll (West Hartford, Conn.).  Carroll's 170 came after rounds of 81 and 89.  Rounding out the scoring for the Gulls was Ian Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) who finished in a tie for 44th.  Teal's finish came as he was able to trim 14 strokes off a tough opening round 95 to close with an 81, the second best second round score for the Gulls.

Endicott now turns their attention to the NEIGA Championships that will be held on October 26th and 27th at the Captains Course in Brewster, Mass.  Please check back as the date nears for updated tee times.
