Nick Erlichman Earns CCC Golfer of the Week after Title-Winning Weekend

CCC Athletes of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior Nick Erlichman struggled on day one of the CCC Championship at the par-71, 6,213-yard Franconia Golf Course but rebounded to provide an exception performance on day two to help Endicott win their third-straight conference championship and first-ever automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament. Erlichman was named CCC Golfer of the Week for his efforts.

Erlichman shot even par on day two, sunk six birdies, four straight on holes eight through 11, and a critical putt on the par-4, 403-yard 18th for a birdie to help the Gulls erase a seven-stroke deficit after day one. Endicott trailed host Western New England but tied the Golden Bears with their day two heroics forcing the championship to be decided by a tie-breaker. With sophomore Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) finishing one stroke better than the Golden Bears fifth golfers the Blue and Green were awarded the CCC's first automatic bid in conference history.

Erlichman is no stranger to playing well on day two of a tournament as he was coming off a performance at the Johnson & Wales Invitational in which he shot 83 on day one and then nine strokes better on day two. Endicott won that tournament, held at Cranston Country Club, by beating 15 other schools.

The NCAA Division III Tournament will be held next month from May 13th-16th at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina.
