BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athlete Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.) has received Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office yesterday.
DeMattia posted a 1-0 record, 0.75 goals against average (GAA), and a .929 save percentage (13 saves) in two games played (one start) for the Gulls in their pair of wins on the week.
Against Southern Maine (W, 4-1), DeMattia made nine saves and allowed just one goal in 60 minutes of action.
She followed up that performance by helping preserve Endicott's 6-3 victory over Cabrini by making a game-high four saves after entering the contest late in the third following a Cavaliers' goal that cut into their deficit at 4-3, at the time.
This is DeMattia's third career CCC Defensive Player of the Week award (9/12/22, 9/11/23) and second this season.
