Correia, Swanson Secure CCC Weekly Awards

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athletes Natalia Correia (Tyngsboro, Mass.) and Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) have received Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Swanson was named the CCC Offensive Player of the Week, while Correia garnered CCC Defensive Player of the Week accolades, respectively.

Swanson recorded a goal and three shots (2 on goal) in a 2-1 CCC victory over the University of New England (UNE). She tied the game at 1-1 after intercepting a UNE pass and taking it to the net with a strong drive for her 19th of the season. Shen then set up the play that resulted in the game-winning goal for the Gulls. With the victory, Endicott earned a share of the CCC regular-season title and the No. 2 seed in the Conference Tournament.

Meanwhile, Correia was a key part of the defensive unit that shut out UNE for over 47 minutes, leading to a 2-1 Endicott win. The Gulls held the Nor'Easters to season lows in goals (one) and shots on goal (two).

This is Correia's second career CCC Defensive Player of the Week award (10/17/22) and Swanson's second career CCC weekly honor (9/11/23).
