Field Hockey Stymies Salem State, 8-0

SALEM, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team shut out Salem State, 8-0, in non-conference action on Monday morning at Alumni Field.

Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) and Kathleen Reissfelder (Westwood, Mass.) both scored twice to pace the offense.

The Gulls also received solo tallies from Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.), Jenna Seibold (Reading, Mass.), Lindsay Bruns (Belfast, Maine.), and Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.).

In goal, Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.) earned the win over 45 minutes of action (1-1 record on the season, one save today).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls are 15-3 all-time against Salem State.
  • Endicott defeated the Vikings by the same scoreline last season (8-0, 9/21/22).
  • Reissfelder notched the first multi-goal game of her career.
  • Meg Arnette (Merrimac, Mass.) registered the first assist of her career on Hicks' goal late in the contest.
  • Freshman goalie Caroline Harvey (Dover, Mass.) made her collegiate debut in the fourth quarter.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (1-1) visits No. 12 nationally ranked MIT on Wednesday, September 6 at 6 PM. Salem State (0-2) travels to Saint Joseph (Conn.) this Wednesday for a 6 PM tilt.
