In the ECAC quarterfinal game, sixth seed Clark University upset third seed Endicott College 4-1 at Clark's home field in Worcester, MA. The Gulls finished their season with an overall record of 14-8. Clark will continue on to the ECAC semifinals where they will face the winner of the Wellesley/Simmons game on Saturday November 13th.
The Gulls and the Cougars were evenly matched in the first half of play and the score remained scoreless at halftime. It was during the second half that the Cougars broke the scoreless game. Clark's first three goals were scored in the first five minutes of the second half. Brittney Wickles, Kristina Richio, and Caitlin Rogers each tallied goals for Clark. Richio added the fourth goal for Clark with less than 20 minutes left in the game.
The Cougars out shot the Gulls 20-12, but EC tried to battle back. Endicott's senior forward Jen McCormack found teammate Kim Doody open off the right post to score EC's only goal of the game.
EC's defense, lead by seniors Melissa Durrant and Alison Beaului, put up a good fight against the Courgars offense. The Gulls only gave up five defensive penalty corners to Clark's seven.
Senior Lisa Cote played in net for the Gulls and tallied five saves. This was Cote's first appearance in the net for the Gulls.
