EC field hockey knocked Regis College out of the Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament today at Tupper Field with a 2-1 victory. Today's game was the CCC quarterfinals for the fourth seed. Endicott College and fifth seed Regis College. Regis finished their season with an overall record of 7-9 and 3-5 in CCC play. Endicott improved their overall record to 13-6 and 6-2 in CCC play.

EC started the game on fire and wasted no time in getting down to business. Just 1:40 into the game, senior forward Jen McCormack scored EC's first goal as she defeated Regis' goalkeeper, Isabel Hall, off the left post to give the Gulls a 1-0 lead. EC continued to dominate play in the first half out shooting Regis 18-3 and went into the half with the 1-0 lead.

The Gulls played a strong possession game in the second half and was the first to score again in the half. Freshman forward Jen Rheaume weaved through three Regis defenders and outplayed Hall to give EC the 2-0 lead with 17:12 left in the game. Regis was quick to respond back and within 30 seconds the game was 2-1. On a defensive breakdown Regis' forward, Caitlin Connelly, scored to put Regis on the board.

EC's defense held the lead in the final minutes of play. The Gulls defense was lead by senior back, Melissa Durrant. Junior Ashley Wallace and EC's goalkeeper Erin Curry also played solid defense. Curry tallied seven saves.

The Gulls will now move on to the CCC semifinal round where they will face the number one seed, Salve Regina. The Gulls defeated the Seahawks in regular season play with a 5-4 overtime victory. The game will take place Wednesday November 3rd at 1:30 pm on Salve Regina's home field.
