Gulls skate past Western Connecticut, 5-3
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott College hockey team scored five unanswered goals en route to a 5-3, come-from-behind victory over Western Connecticut State University on Friday night in Danbury, Conn. The Gulls improved to 8-10 overall this season after following up the win on Friday night with a 5-4 overtime victory over Central Connecticut State University on Saturday evening.

Friday night, Western Connecticut jumped out to an early 2-0 lead by the end of the first period on goals by Greg Holiske and Trevor Baldwin and made it a 3-0 game in the second period on a tally by Mike Pierne. Endicott’s \#Rob DiNicola\# (Wolcott, Conn.) scored with 4:03 remaining in the second period to make it a 3-1 game before the second intermission.

Coming out of the break, the Gulls would hang four goals on the Colonials in the third period. \#John Joaquin\# (Plainville, Mass.) cut the deficit to one goal on assists from \#Jeffery Breault\# (Blackstone, Mass.) and \#Dan Giddings\# (North Reading, Mass.). Endicott got the equalizer on a tally from Breault and took the lead on a \#Kevin Bunting\# (Plantsville, Conn.) score. \#Christopher Delande\# (Rowley, Mass.) scored an insurance goal with :21 seconds remaining for an insurance goal.

The Blue and Green have wrapped up this portion of their schedule and return to the ice following the winter break. Endicott faces off with New York University on January 23rd at 7:30 p.m. at the Pingree School in Hamilton, Mass.
