In the first period, the Gulls jumped out to an early lead when \#Dan Giddings\# (North Reading, Mass.) took a feed on the power play from captain \#Mike Vacca\# (North Reading, Mass.) for a 1-0 edge. The Pioneers knotted the score just before the first buzzer as Frank Maguire scored unassisted with 1:53 remaining in the period.
The Gulls took back the lead early in the second period as \#Matthew Zimmerman\# (South Glastonbury, Conn.) stuffed home a pass from Giddings to make the score 2-1. Unfortunately for Endicott, C.W. Post scored the next five goals of the contest, including a pair in the second, to put the game out of reach. Maguire picked up his second tally of the contest during that stretch while Mike Cupolo added two of his own.
Endicott’s \#Rob Dinicola\# added his two goals in the final six minutes to make it interesting, however the Gulls fell to the Pioneers, 6-4.
\#Matt Murray\# (Billerica, Mass.) made 16 saves in the game while his counterpart, Will Neifeld, made an astounding 51 stops in the game. The Gulls held a 55-22 advantage in shots as well as a 3-2 edge in assists.
The Blue and Green return to action on Saturday as Endicott hosts Central Connecticut University in a 7:30 p.m. matchup as a part of Endicott College’s Homecoming Festivities.
