Gulls fall to Bridgewater, 3-2

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - The Endicott College ice hockey team dropped a 3-2 decision at the hands of Bridgewater State College on Monday night in Bridgewater, Mass. The Gulls dropped their second straight game to the Bears and fell to 5-9 this season and 2-5 in the NECHA.

Bridgewater struck first just under 14 minutes into the opening period as Derek Fortuna stuffed home a feed from Ryan Hebert and Craig McKinnon for a 1-0 lead. Endicott responded just before the end of the first period when \#Jon Gurry\# (Wells, Maine) scored the equalizer on a pass from \#Christopher Delande\# (Rowley, Mass.).

Endicott scored early in the second to build a 2-1 lead when \#Craig Ward\# (Cohoes, N.Y.) scored on the power play on a pass from \#Dan Giddings\# (North Reading, Mass.). The Gulls defense would hold onto the lead through the rest of the period and into the third until the Bears' Hebert knotted the game at 2-2 a mere 2:33 into the final period of play.

The Bears carried the momentum through the final period as Bridgewater pushed the game-winner across in the final three minutes of play when Colby Maguire tallied a score off a feed from Hebert - his third point of the game - to send the Gulls home with their second straight setback.

\#Matthew Murray\# (Billerica, Mass.) suffered the loss for the Gulls despite making 26 saves on 29 shots faced. Zach Dupere picked up the win in net for the Bears by making 32 saves on 34 shots.

Endicott skates again on Friday when they travel to Marist University for a 9:15 p.m. face-off.
