Endicott hangs on to beat NYU
HAMILTON, Mass. – The Endicott College ice hockey team defeated New York University, 3-2, in its first game following the winter break to help the Gulls improve to 9-10 overall. Endicott’s \#Kevin Bunting\# (Plantsville, Conn.) notched an assist and added the game-winning goal for the Blue and Green.

All the action took place in the first period as \#Mike Vacca\# (North Reading, Mass.) gave Endicott an early 1-0 lead a mere 2:53 into the opening stanza. \#Matthew Zimmerman\# (South Glastonbury, Conn.) stretched the EC lead to 2-0 nearly five minutes later on a feed from Bunting.

NYU grabbed the next two goals at Pat O’Keefe (Chicago, Ill.) scored to make it 2-1 and then assisted on the tying goal by Matt Anderson (Scotch Plains, N.J.) to knot the game at 2-all with 7:17 remaining in the first period. The game would not be tied for long as Bunting scored the game-winning tally on feeds from \#Rob DiNicola\# (Wolcott, Conn.) and \#Ryan Donovan\# (Reading, Mass.).

The Endicott defense held the Violets offense at bay for the final 45:36 in the game. \#Matthew Murray\# (Billerica, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for the Blue and Green while NYU’s Justin Perkins (Flushing, N.Y.) suffered the setback for the Violets.

Endicott returns to the ice on Friday and Saturday night as the Gulls host Boston College on January 30th at 7:30 p.m. and then will take on Bates College the following night in Hamilton, Mass. at 7:20 p.m.
