Blue Devils use big first period to down Endicott
HAMILTON, Mass. - Central Connecticut State University used a four-goal first period to hand Endicott College a 6-2 loss on Saturday evening in Hamilton, Mass. The Gulls dropped their second-straight contest to fall to 1-2 while the Blue Devils improve to 1-1 with the win.

Central Connecticut’s Thomas Carrol got the scoring started early as he took a Joe Dabkowski feed and gave the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead, a mere :37 seconds into the game. Two minutes later, Carrol returned the favor, finding Dabkowski for a goal with Rob DiClemente also picking up an assist on the power play tally. Jeff Pease added to the Blue Devils lead with a goal of his own followed by DiClemente scoring on a pass from his brother, Mike DiClemente for the 4-0 advantage with less than three minutes remaining in the first period.

The Gulls finally got on the board with :44 seconds remaining in the frame as \#Kevin Bunting\# (Plantsville, Conn.) scored on a \#Brett Erickson\# (Leominster, Mass.) and \#Jeffrey Breault\# (Blackstone, Mass.) feed to make it a 4-1 game.

Following a quiet second period, the Gulls scored with 18:21 to play in regulation as \#Andrew Lamont\# (Kennebunk, Maine) scored off a pass from \#Jared Garceau\# (Guilford, Conn.) to cut the deficit in half, 4-2. The Blue Devils would respond quickly however as Eric Blewett and Matt Williams each scored in the next three minutes to put the game out of reach, 6-2.

Endicott’s \#Ryan Fullerton\# (Saunderstown, R.I.) suffered the setback for the Gulls despite making 29 saves. Ross Mocko picked up the win for Central Connecticut while stopping 39 shots. Both Rob DiClemente and Joe Dabkowski led the Blue Devils with a goal and two assists each.

The Blue and Green return to the ice on Friday as they travel to Boston, Mass. for a NECHA matchup with Northeastern University at 7:30 p.m.
