Heacox and Reilly Honored by CCC in Title Winning Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – For their efforts in securing the program's fourth consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship and fifth since the 2008 season, Endicott women's tennis senior captain Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) and freshman Dayna Reilly (Swansea, Mass.) were named Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, by the CCC.

Heacox, the CCC'S Player of the Year First Team All-CCC in both singles and doubles with Reilly, came up big on championship Sunday factoring into two of Endicott's five points with an 8-5 #1 doubles win and a straight-set 6-1, 6-4 over the league's Rookie of the Year from Nichols at #1 singles. Earlier in the week against Gordon in the CCC Semifinals, Heacox and Reilly teamed up to win 8-1 again at the top doubles position as the Gulls shutout the Scots 5-0 to advance to their seventh CCC Championship in the past eight years.

Along with her doubles wins with Heacox in the both the semifinal and final rounds, Reilly battled in #3 singles action with both matches going unfinished as the Gulls won to decision. An All-CCC Honorable Mention singles player this season, Reilly nearly secured the final point against Gordon as she was ahead 6-2, 5-2 before the match was cut short. On Sunday against Nichols, Reilly trailed 6-4, 4-3 but as she elongated her match Endicott was able to secure a championship win.
