Tennis Victorious on Senior Day, 8-1 over Eastern Nazarene

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team celebrated Homecoming and Senior Day with an 8-1 victory over CCC opponent Eastern Nazarene on Saturday afternoon marking the program's seventh win in their last eight matches. Senior captains Natalie Egbert (Gorham, Maine), Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.), and Chrissy Martel (Westbrook, Conn.) played in the final regular season home match of the Endicott careers as the team now hits the road for three contests before the conference tournament begins.

Endicott (8-2, 6-0 CCC) travels to Newport, Rhode Island to face CCC foe Salve Regina on Wednesday, October 1st for a 3:00 pm start while Eastern Nazarene wraps up their 2014 season at Roger Williams on Wednesday.

Heacox teamed up with freshman Dayna Reilly (Swansea, Mass.) at the #1 doubles position to win 8-2 and Egbert claimed a straight-set, 6-0, 6-2 win at #1 singles as two out of the three seniors were victorious against the Lions.

Juniors Brittany Potter (Bedford, N.H.) and Suzie Newman (Dighton, Mass.) defeated their Eastern Nazarene opposition 8-0 as did freshmen Katie Javaruski (Mansfield, Conn.) and Hannah Kravetz (Wayland, Mass.) at the #3 doubles position.

In singles action, sophomore Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.) won 6-1, 6-0 at the #3 flight and sophomore Jamie Zompa (Marlborough, Mass.) took down her #4 singles opponent 6-0, 6-1. The #5 (Javaruski) and #6 (Kravetz) players for the Gulls won their matches in straight sets without giving up a game.
